French musician Hervé Salters, from the band General Elektriks, repeats his role as co-producer and keyboardist, as well as long-time bassist and faithful accomplice Lucas Martins and Pupillo on drums, programming and co-production.

APKÁ! features the same team that worked on Céu’s celebrated previous studio album Tropix. Crying keyboards and a melancholic guitar combine with her whispered vocals, which intertwine with those of Congolese vocalist Leonardo Matumona, one of the few guest performers on the record. On the track “Off (Sad Siri),” Céu begins to reveal the musical quilt that makes up her new work. In its own way, APKÁ! does just that – in the form of music. It’s a mixture of excitement and gratitude.

Smiling & happy, Céu’s son with producer and drummer Pupillo, shouts the strange, made-up word to show that he is happy with everything from a meal to a game. The album’s title comes from Céu’s youngest child Antonino, a word shouted by the one year old to express complete satisfaction. A hot, minimalist record, which brings together sonic, thematic, musical and conceptual extremes, the new album reveals an artist passing through the musical trips made on previous records while eventually leaving her chrysalis, transformed into a new composer and interpreter, ready to start a new phase of her career. I would be very hesitant to return as I expect somewhere promoting cocktails to be serving good cocktails.APKÁ! (with capital letters and an exclamation point), the fifth album from São Paulo’s Céu, consolidates the journey of the singer and composer’s career up to this point. We stayed til closing and spent a lot of money on what was poor quality drinks and slow service. All a bit strange! After table service ended I had to order at the bar where there was only one bar man making cocktails - rather odd for somewhere that promotes cocktails! Not to mention that I think I was also overcharged and didn't notice til the next day. When our mains (eventually) arrived, my friend was apparently given the wrong dish and had this taken away and replaced. Mine tasted mostly like lemon juice, which was not meant to be a dominant flavour! We could see that it was busy but it was hard to get the attention of staff. Our table was not ready when I arrived and our first cocktails took a very long time to come, and did not even arrive at the same time! They were disappointing to say the least and we wondered if there was even any alcohol in them. Had dinner and drinks on Friday on my friend's recommendation but the experience did not live up to expectation. We had a lot of fun but the cold food and toilet issue was a big thing for me hence my 3 stars. It sounds minor but I get the vibe Tropix is trying to be somewhat boujee but having basic toilet locks are too much to ask? Please sort that out! All in all it was a nice day and the cocktails were great - also the overall atmosphere was nice. There was a toilet attendant but nonetheless it was a bad experience in there. There was never any loo roll, I had to ask at the bar. Now I am not particularly fussy but none of the toilet doors locked - I'm not sure if this is done on purpose? But it literally means having to hold the door closed while you go. The music was great but there was random cheesey songs that aren't my cuppa tea but others liked. Once we spoke to the waiters etc they were super nice and we ended up having loads to drink and was left the prossecco bottle - which seemed only fair as sometimes our order wasn't taken. Nobody came to us until 15:15 at which point we had to go and ask to be served. Myself and friends went for bottomless brunch on a Saturday table booked for 15:00.
